We have a new Twisted Yarns blog! We will use this as another way to keep you updated on news at Twisted Yarns.
We just got back from market in Columbus, Ohio. The store is full of great yarn, so we didn't really anything in particular, but naturally found some great new items!
New yarns include Balance from Vermont Organic Fiber. This blend of certified organic cotton and merino wool is beautiful and soft. We have a small sample in the shop so you can check it out before it arrives. In the same theme of organic yarns, we ordered almost every color of the natural plant-dyed Nature's Palette merino yarns from Hand Jive - great colors and yarn for socks and shawls! Our current organic yarn supplier, Blue Sky Alpaca, has introduced a new yarn, Suri Merino, beautifully soft! We ordered almost every color!
We found some other new companies with exciting new yarns. Jojoland is a small company in the Dallas area with wonderful self striping yarns in DK, sport and lace weight. Jane Sowerby, author of Victorian Lace Today, wore one of her shawls knit with this beautiful yarn while signing copies of her book! The pattern will be in the fall issue of Knitters Magazine (which we also ordered for the first time).
Iris Schreier, owner of Artyarns and co-author of Exquisite Little Knits, has a new book out, Lacy Little Knits. The book has great new patterns for shawls, scarves and sweaters. Many of the patterns are made with Artyarns products so we ordered the Regal Silk, Silk Rhapsody and Cashmere. The book is on its way. Another new supplier is Chameleon Colorworks which sells a merino wool blend which has been through a special stretching process to make is extra soft. We ordered several hand dyed and solid colors in sport weight.
We ordered Lexie Barnes knitting and project bags - if you have looked at a knitting magazine, you have seen them - so cute and designed specifically for knitters! These have already been shipped! The bags from Della Q have been so popular, so we have ordered more of those in new styles and colors for the fall.

Classes
By special request, we are offering a new class in June. The Texan's Perfect Short Sleeved Cardigan Class is a top down sweater pattern similar to the Texas Tee which was offered last month. The class will be held on:
June 14 - 1:00 to 2:30
June 21 - 1:00 to 2:00
June 28 - 1:00 to 2:00
The class fee is $45, including the pattern. Please e-mail or call us to sign up for the class!

In addition, a wonderful shipment of Superwash sock yarn arrived from J-Knits! For those of you who love Trekking XXL, we received Color #104, #69 (among others). We're fully stocked on Lornas Laces Shepherd Sock, Mountain Colors Bearfoot and Cherry Tree Hill sock yarns. Remember - sock yarns are fingering weight yarns and great for baby items (hats, booties, Baby Surprise Jackets).
