The Ravellenic Summer Games 2016

Dates: Friday, August 5 - Sunday, August 21

The One Rule To Rule Them All: Challenge yourself by starting and finishing one or more projects during the 2016 Summer Olympics.

What will be a stretch for you? It could be a new technique, that first sweater or pair of socks, something massive, something delicate, or maybe finishing that monster in the closet. The goal of the Ravellenic Games is to support you in expanding your knitting/crocheting horizons.

When do we start?

The Mass Cast-On will take place during the Opening Ceremonies. When the Olympic Games kick off in Rio, 19:15 local time, that’ll be your start time, whatever time that is in your timezone.

Ann (knittiwan) and Gayle (sspurl) are your team captains and are here to answer questions and help you navigate your way through the Ravellenics.

Here’s how to get started:

1.  Join the Ravellenic Games 2016 group on Ravelry
2.  Read A Good Place to Start 
3.  Choose your Medal Event and a project to compete in the event - make note of the event tag(s).
4. Create a project page for your Ravellenic project

When you are setting up your project, make sure you have the following tags entered in the tag box for your project:

Tagging Tutorial - for best results, use copy and paste.
ravellenics2016
teamtwistedyarns2016

Also put your Event Tag in the tag box. You can find your event tag on the Medal Event page (see link above).

If you are using a technique in your project that qualifies for a Laurel, then put your Laurel tag in the tag box.
